INTRODUCTION The Camp Office Assistant is a key position within the camp office during the summer months.
The Camp Office Assistant is responsible for most summer related office tasks and helps with all aspects of camp office operation.
RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Answer phone, direct calls to appropriate people, take messages, and answer basic questions about camp programs.
2.
Assist administrative staff in various office related duties.
3.
Greet camp visitors and assist them as needed.
4.
Provide word processing services and assist office personnel in summer related tasks.
5.
Maintain a neat and clean office environment.
6.
Handle all mail for staff and campers.
7.
Assist summer administrators in preparing incident reports.
8.
Maintain camper files and Human Resources paperwork for staff.
9.
Work with Program Leaders to create and publish a weekly camp newsletter.
10.
Encourage respect for personal property, camp equipment, and facilities.
11.
Attend and actively participate in required training, team meetings and supervision meetings.
12.
Adhere to and further the mission of Melwood by creating a supportive environment for campers and staff.
13.
Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED The Camp Office Assistant is supervised by the Center Associate/Registrar.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to stand/walk 50% of work time, sit and/or drive 50%.
Must be able to lift, carry, push and/or pull 60 pounds.
Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach.
Must be able to speak clearly and hear well.
Must be able to communicate well and have full command of the English language.
QUALIFICATIONS H.
S.
Diploma or equivalent required.
Must have good knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications.
Must have good oral and written communication skills and speak fluent English.
Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure.
WORKING CONDITIONS This position may require work in extreme weather conditions.
Must be able to work a varied schedule to include nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Travel may be required.
Experience Preferred Must be able to file paperwork.
Must be computer literate.
Must be able to multitask.
Must have experience with answering the phone.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
